Learn on the panels engineers actually wire

Our labs at 3 Oluyole Way, New Bodija, Ibadan hold Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, drives, HMIs and working process rigs. Every public programme is taught here, and company groups can also be trained on their own site.

The route a tour takes

Walk the floor with us

Four stops, in the order you would see them on a visit. Nothing here is staged: these are the rooms and rigs our students use every week.

  1. 01
Light Automation reception desk with the company sign

    Reception

Every visit starts here. The Academy office answers questions about programmes, start dates and fees, and walks you through to the labs.

    • Programme and fee questions
    • IT/SIWES acceptance letters
    • Company training enquiries
  2. 02
Students at laptops in a theory session with instrumentation slides on screen
Training room with the panel wall along one sideFacilitator teaching 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 10 V signal types

    Training room and panel wall

Theory at the long table, with the panel wall of PLCs, drives and HMIs along the side. A lesson on 4 to 20 mA signals moves from the screen to real hardware in the same room.

    • Lectures and software sessions
    • Panel wall of PLCs, drives and HMIs
    • Bring a laptop for most courses
  3. 03
Instructor and students on the smart home trainer rig
Students wiring a controller to the water tank and solenoid valve rigStudents working on an industrial control panel

    Practical bays

Where most of the course hours go. Students wire, program and fault-find on working rigs, not simulations.

    • Pump and tank process rig with a PowerFlex drive panel
    • Water tank and solenoid valve rig
    • Smart home trainer: Sonoff, Home Assistant, CCTV
    • Panel workshop: enclosures, DIN rail, terminals
  4. 04
    Students at SCADA workstations
Student presenting a Siemens SIMATIC HMI project on the large screenStudent presenting an HMI screen to a facilitator

    SCADA and HMI workstations

Licensed Siemens WinCC Professional and Rockwell FactoryTalk View. Students build screens, alarms and trends against a running PLC, then present them on the big screen.

    • Siemens WinCC Professional
    • Rockwell FactoryTalk View
    • Project presentations to a facilitator
