These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your enrollment in and use of training services provided by Light Automation Academy ("we", "us", "our") — a division of Light Automation and Control Systems Ltd, registered in Nigeria. By enrolling, you ("Student", "you") agree to these Terms.
1. Enrollment and Acceptance
Enrollment is confirmed only upon:
- Submission of a completed application form
- Acceptance by the Academy's admissions team
- Payment of the required fee or first installment
The Academy reserves the right to refuse enrollment at its discretion, including where applications are incomplete or where the applicant does not meet eligibility criteria.
2. Programs and Fees
Program fees, duration, and structure are as published on our website at the time of enrollment:
- Academy Program (1-Year Professional Diploma in Industrial Automation and Control): ₦1,200,000
- PLC Programming Mastery (12 weeks, part-time): ₦350,000
- SCADA & HMI Development (8 weeks): ₦280,000
- Industrial Robotics (10 weeks): ₦400,000
- Instrumentation & Control (6 weeks): ₦220,000
- Smart Home Automation (2 weeks, intensive bootcamp): ₦430,000 (VAT inclusive)
- SIWES 3 Months: ₦200,000
- SIWES 6 Months: ₦350,000
Fees are quoted in Nigerian Naira (₦) and may be revised for future intakes. Fees confirmed at point of enrollment are honoured for that intake. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, fees are inclusive of applicable taxes.
3. Payment Terms
- Full payment or first installment is due before classes commence
- Installment plans are available for the Academy Program, capped at a maximum of 3 monthly installments
- Installment payments must be made by the agreed schedule
- Accepted payment methods: bank transfer and approved online payment gateways
- Late installment payments may result in suspension of access to classes until payment is made
- A ₦10,000 late fee applies to payments more than 7 days overdue
4. Student Obligations
As a Student, you agree to:
- Attend classes regularly and punctually (minimum 80% attendance required for certification)
- Complete assigned coursework, projects and assessments
- Treat instructors, staff and fellow students with respect
- Handle equipment responsibly and follow all safety protocols
- Abide by the Academy's Code of Conduct
- Pay fees on time per the agreed schedule
- Provide accurate personal and educational information
5. Attendance and Certification
The credential awarded depends on the programme enrolled in:
- Academy Program (1 Year): Professional Diploma in Industrial Automation and Control
- Professional Courses (PLC, SCADA, Robotics, Instrumentation, Smart Home Automation): Certificate of Competency
- SIWES 6-Month Programme: Certificate of Completion
- SIWES 3-Month Programme: IT Acceptance Letter, completed logbook and project documentation (no certificate issued)
To qualify for the Professional Diploma in Industrial Automation and Control, Academy Program students must:
- Maintain at least 80% attendance across all modules
- Achieve a minimum of 60% in all assessments
- Successfully complete the capstone project
- Settle all fees in full
Academy Program students who do not meet these requirements may instead receive a Certificate of Competency, recognising the skills they have demonstrated.
6. Equipment and Intellectual Property
All training materials, software licenses, and equipment provided remain the property of Light Automation Academy. Students may use them solely for learning purposes during their enrollment. Unauthorized copying, distribution or commercial use is prohibited.
Any projects, programs or documentation you create during training remain your intellectual property, except that the Academy retains the right to display them for educational and promotional purposes with appropriate credit.
7. Code of Conduct
Students are expected to uphold professional standards. Violations that may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal without refund, include:
- Cheating, plagiarism or academic dishonesty
- Harassment, discrimination or bullying
- Theft or damage of Academy equipment
- Violation of safety protocols
- Use of illegal substances on premises
- Any conduct that brings the Academy into disrepute
8. Cancellation and Refunds
Refund terms are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Program Changes
The Academy reserves the right to:
- Modify curriculum content to reflect industry developments
- Change instructors where necessary
- Reschedule classes due to circumstances beyond our control
- Relocate sessions between our facilities
We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes.
10. Job Placement Assistance
We provide job placement support including resume review, interview preparation and introductions to employer partners. We do not guarantee employment. Job placement outcomes depend on individual performance, employer hiring decisions and market conditions. Our published 95% placement rate reflects historical graduate outcomes, not a contractual guarantee.
11. Liability
The Academy's total liability to any Student is limited to the fees paid for the program in question. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, consequential or special damages
- Loss of employment, income or career opportunities
- Personal injury except where caused by our proven negligence
- Loss of personal property on the premises
- Interruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control (power outages, force majeure, etc.)
12. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any proprietary information shared during the training relationship.
13. Amendments
The Academy may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students, and continued participation in programs constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved first through good-faith negotiation, then mediation, and finally through the courts of Oyo State, Nigeria.
